The sluice at the start of the mill lade. Angus MacKinnon, the father of Iain Aonghais, was in charge of raising and lowering it - HAMcC.

The miller adjusted the setting to maintain water levels in the loch. There was a second col-uisge at the north end of Loch a' Chlair so that the water coming into Loch Bhasapol could be controlled - IMcK.
