Information:Taigh a' Mhachaire is the Eglintons’ house. It was named thus from my earliest recollections, and long before. It belonged initially to the MacFadyens, whose number included Duncan MacFadyen (Donnchadh mac Nèill), the tailor, and Neil MacFadyen (Niall Ailein), grandfather of Lachie MacFadyen, Aird Deas, who was brought up there. Neil’s original home was in Gott, and he returned there in retirement, when John, Lachie’s father, came back from Kerrera. His Gott house is the one that remains unrenovated to the present. In my time, some of my MacDonald relatives lived there - DM
