Information: There was a shop at the west end of Laighnis run by Bean Dhòmhnaill (Mary) Chamshron. She was the first person to sell paraffin in the east end. The ruined house became a fank. Angus MacLean, Scarinish, 5/2009.
The structure is on the seaward side of the raised beach. There is a doorway to the north, which shows how the ground level is higher than it was. In the house is a concrete sheep dip. The fank has been added to the east. IMcD, 11/2016
