Information:The streams coming down from Ben Hynish were sampled and found to deliver 13-50 cubic feet per minute, so they were diverted into a 175,000 cubic feet pond. Channels were dug up the hillside, including an aqueduct to cross the stream An Allt Bàn. These delivered enough water to completely clean the dock at low water. The tenant of Hynish was paid £5 compensation for cutting these drains.
