Information:Bean Dhonnchadh a’ Chiobair lost Croit a’ Chomission and was hungry. She went out and stole some potatoes from a pollag but left her scarf at the scene. This was found and Niall Eachainn’s father and Aonghas Theònaidh went to the widow and accused her of stealing. When the rest of the township heard the news they gathered together a sack of potatoes for the poor woman and put a curse on the two men for being so heartless. David McClounnnan, Balephuil, 1/2003.
