This is ON lyng ‘heather' (CV, 401), probably with ON hóll ‘rounded hill’ or, less likely, ON v?llr ‘field, meadow’ (see Manal).
There is a Lingal on Flotta, Orkney (SP); there is a Lyngholen in Finnøy, Norway (NG); and Lyng- is a common specific in Iceland, with Lynghóll occurring twice as a farm name (SAM).
